AU: Frozen berries come with feathery find for Brisbane family
Courier Mail: A Brisbane mum says she will no longer buy frozen berries after she found a matted feather inside a packet of raspberries.
Kristen Smith said she was defrosting the Coles-branded fruit to put on her children’s muesli when she discovered the feather encrusted onto the side of a berry.
“I was talking to my daughter and I looked in my hand and saw one of them had a little bit of a dark thing on it. As I spun it round, it covered the whole other side of the berry,” she said.
“I thought ‘what the hell is that?’ so I peeled it off but it was frozen on and I thought ‘ew gross’. Originally it was quite wet and matted together but then I put it in a sandwich bag and as it dried, it definitely looked like a feather.”
