Canadian Food Inspection Agency: While promising to retain its role in regulatory oversight and inspections, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency will consider the results of third-party food safety audits. The agency said private certification will help the food safety agency make better decisions and create efficiency by taking reliable information relevant to compliance into consideration,

“CFIA remains responsible for verifying compliance with regulatory requirements,” according to a news release from the agency. “There is no intent to replace or outsource regulatory oversight or inspection work.”
