NZ: New food safety requirements come into force for exports to Korea
New Zealand Trade & Enterprise: After 3 August 2016, food products from New Zealand premises that are not registered with the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) will not be cleared for entry into South Korea. The Korean Special Act on Imported Food Safety came into force on 4 February 2016, requiring that all food products for human consumption intended for export to Korea must be sourced from premises registered with the MFDS.

US: Investment in novel technologies advances food safety, quality
US Department of Agriculture: USDA’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) awarded WSU $4 million to establish a Center of Excellence that will accelerate the technology transfer to mainstream commercial markets. This is the first Center of Excellence on Food Safety Processing Technologies funded by NIFA’s flagship program, the Agriculture and Food Research Initiative.
