Horticulture New Zealand: Health officials in Havelock North have issued a boil water notice for council water supply due to an outbreak of Campylobacter. The council has advised that any water could be contaminated, including washing and drinking water. The risk can be managed by boiling council supplied water or using an alternative water source, such as bottled water or tankers. Horticulture New Zealand has surveyed growers in the area, and is confident that there is no immediate risk to the food safety of fresh produce.
