YouTube: Blemished food may be a stigma we should erase. Marks on produce scare shoppers into health concerns, but a lot of food may be harmless, and wasted for aesthetic reasons.

More than $30 million dollars and 30 percent of the produce market was thrown out for blemishes in 2010. But pathogens that affect food often don’t have the same ill effects on humans. Elizabeth Brauer sets the record straight in hopes of saving some waste. After all, you could always cut the ugly part off.
