Symbio Laboratories has become a proud supporter of the Fresh Produce Safety Centre Australia & New Zealand as a Bronze level supporter.
David Phillips, CEO of Symbio Laboratories said, “As a proponent of ensuring that Australia continues to produce and supply the highest quality fresh produce domestically, and in the global marketplace, Symbio Laboratories is proud to support the FPSC in its mission to provide the industry with the information it needs to enhance the safety and quality of fruit and vegetables”
The Chair of the FPSC, Michael Worthington, welcomed Symbio on board, saying, ‘We are delighted Symbio has signed up and committed to support the industry-led, industry-funded Fresh Produce Safety Centre.’
‘Food safety is vital for the entire fresh produce industry—as recent food safety crises have so starkly demonstrated,’ Mr Worthington said, ‘and companies who actively support the Centre are adding to positive food safety outcomes for the whole industry.’
Mr Phillips commended the FPSC on its extension work in bringing the results of fresh produce research and learnings to industry “Working with a vast number of fresh produce producers and suppliers, Symbio Laboratories is aware of the devastating effects any outbreak of foodborne illness can have on the produce sector, and the companies for which we supply testing and analysis. The FPSC’s work helps ensure that we, and our clients, are well-informed and equipped to handle what the future holds for the industry.”
Mr Philips urged anyone with a stake in fresh produce to visit the FPSC website, and sign up to the fortnightly e-newsletter.
