NZ: Food labelling sparks debate in Parliament
FreshPlaza: A fight nearly broke out in Parliament today over mandarins. On one side was Labour Party MP Damien O’Connor, saying that shoppers were being lied to about where their fruit came from. On the other was powerful Food and Grocery Council head, Katherine Rich, who is strongly against making it compulsory for companies to say where their food is from.

AU: Survey finds high pesticide compliance rates for AU apples and pears
FreshPlaza: Results from the latest National Residue Survey for apples and pears have found a high compliance in the industry. The overall compliance rate in 2015-16 was 97.9 per cent for apples, up on 95.9 per cent in comparison with the previous year and 95.7 per cent for pears, which was slightly down in comparison with the previous year, which was 97.8 per cent.
