Emma Walters rejoined the FPSC as its Executive Officer in November 2019. She was the inaugural Executive Officer of FPSC in 2014-2015 and helped establish the Centre. Her skill set includes centre administration, project management, facilitation, training, partnerships and fundraising. She also works in international development as a consultant.
Over the last eight years, Emma has worked on projects designed to increase civil society participation and enhance problem-solving in Asian Development Bank (ADB) work, with a focus on the Pacific. Since 2012, she has worked with the University of Sydney as a project manager and trainer on Australian Government-funded short course programs on agricultural research in Africa. Since 2018, she has also been a part-time Centre Manager for the Centre for Advanced Food Enginomics within the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Sydney.
Fasih Syed has joined FPSC as its new in-house Events Organiser as of May 2021. He is responsible for delivering the annual Fresh Produce Safety Conference and other FPSC events. His skills centre on event management, program delivery & innovative project management.
Over the last 5+ years, Fasih has delivered event projects, as an Events Manager, for some of Australia’s leading organisations. He has experience in industry-first events such as the L’Etape Australia by Le Tour de France event, building programs for Healius Medical centres one of the largest healthcare providers and providing event engagement solutions for VolunteeringACT, the peak body of volunteering in Canberra. He has also supported the building of entrepreneurial ventures for the events space including a mobile travel application & a volunteering platform.
