Australian Government: The Agvet Chemical Task Group (ACTG) is conducting public consultation on the Discussion Paper: Off-Label Use Harmonisation Proposal. The discussion paper describes approaches for harmonisation of agricultural chemical product off-label use practices that are expected to deliver the most significant benefits to Australian farmers. The consultation on the discussion paper is now open and submissions must be lodged by 2:00 pm AEDT on 28 February 2018.

Farminguk: Tesco has announced that from the beginning of April 2018 it will recognise Red Tractor’s standards as equivalent to its Nurture scheme. International assurance body GLOBALG.A.P. also confirmed that as a result of its own benchmarking exercise the requirement for a further farm assessment has been removed.

nzgap.co.nz: NZGAP is in the final stages of benchmarking to GLOBALG.A.P. version 5.1. The latest round of benchmarking includes some minor changes to wording and question categories from version 5.0. The updated standard, (NZGAP GLOBALG.A.P. Equivalent v6.1) will be available to growers in December and will be required for any NZGAP GLOBALG.A.P. Equivalent audits completed after 1st January 2018.
