AU: Frozen berries Hepatitis A Virus outbreak fact sheet (2017)
An outbreak of foodborne illness attributed to hepatitis A virus (HAV) has taken place in Australia. At least four people have become infected. The source of the outbreak is 300 gram packs of Creative Gourmet Frozen Mixed Berries with a best-before date of 15 January 2021. This product was recalled nationally on 2nd June 2017 as a precaution.

FreshPlaza: Results from the latest National Residue Survey for apples and pears have found a high compliance in the industry. The overall compliance rate in 2015-16 was 97.9 per cent for apples, up on 95.9 per cent in comparison with the previous year and 95.7 per cent for pears, which was slightly down in comparison with the previous year, which was 97.8 per cent.

AU: Australian olive oil producers use QR codes to reassure Chinese of authenticity
ABC News: Chinese consumers of specially marked Australian Olive Oil will soon be able to scan a label on the bottle to confirm its authenticity and meet the producer via a personalised video. Proponents of the international marketing tool, called Australian Authentic, anticipate the approach will double the return to Australian growers.
