AU: Spy bugs to keep tabs on Katherine’s mangoes
Katherine Times: Next generation supply chain technologies under development in partnership between T-Provenance, Manbulloo Limited, Growcom and CRCNA will allow Northern Australian mango producers to collect and utilise data on their supply chain, value-add to their businesses and capture new markets. The project utilises a combination of sensor technology for quality assessment, smart chip technology measurement capabilities and new blockchain technology to ensure food safety, food quality, food traceability and authenticity within the supply chain.

As the food industry adapts and changes, we’re always looking to keep up to date and reflect best practices. If I had to sum up the key additions to this latest version in a few words, I’d say “improved auditor competency” and “covering the supply chain from farm to fork”.

UK: Red Tractor launches first TV ads
Farmers Weekly: Red Tractor Assurance (RTA) will launch its first national television advertising campaign later this year to educate customers about food standards. The focus will be on educating customers about the standards behind assured food after RTA market research reports showed shoppers were twice as likely to buy a Red Tractor product if they understood more about the standards behind it.
